As a first class wedding venue, Carlton Towers at Selby - the ancestral home of the Duke of Norfolk, has much to offer - featuring gorgeous ceremony and reception rooms with gold walls, high ceilings and incredible fireplaces. The opulent ambience of this wonderful venue is a wedding stylists dream, harmonising perfectly with all colours and styles, from traditional to modern.
Set amid the backdrop of immaculately manicured gardens, the drive up to this amazing wedding venue sets the scene flawlessly, culminating in a magnificent sweeping staircase that leads to the grand entrance and on, into the beautifully ornate and atmospheric interior.
I was lucky enough to be styling the venue for clients Kris and Jen who held their wedding there just after Christmas and I must say that having the seasonal decorations still in place really added to the incredible atmosphere.
Whilst the weather wasn’t exactly winter-wonderland, we were blessed with golden sunshine on the morning of the wedding - with shafts of sunlight streaming through the long windows, casting dappled shadows down the aisle of the ceremony room, the morning sun brought a golden shimmer and a truly magical sparkle to the gilded walls – absolutely stunning!!
Venue styling in such a grand setting requires a classic yet stylish approach - elegant chair decoration was all that was required, with lace chair hoods and a pearl brooch which matched Jen’s dress. Using the large crystal candelabra from Carlton Towers, together with the delicate lace table overlays completed the effect and carried the theme through to the wedding breakfast room.
Such an amazing location - a wedding venue stylists dream….. I loved it!
